Description
Cosmos Sensation Royal Mix offers a delightful mix of single flowers in shades of white, light pink to medium pink, and purple. Half the size of the popular Cosmos Sensation, it is ideal for adding volume and a rustic touch in borders, small gardens and pots for terraces and balconies, while also offering elegance and cheerfulness. This selection blooms profusely and for a long time, from June to October. It is easy to sow and grow. Cosmos is drought-tolerant in summer.
The Cosmos Sensation Royal Dwarf Mix is one of the many cultivars of this annual with well-deserved success. Related to Dahlias, Cosmos belongs to the family of Asteraceae. They have characteristic flower heads and particularly fine foliage, described as pinnatisect, reminiscent of fennel. This compact variety with strong stems quickly forms a dense clump 50 cm tall, by 30 cm wide. Flowering begins in June-July and lasts until October, only ceasing with the first frosts. The heads measure 8 cm in diameter. The centre consists of a golden disc. They attract numerous insects and butterflies, including the Monarch.
Cosmos Sensation Royal Mix is an ideal plant for filling summer containers until the first frosts, and for colonising a slope or a border. Its single flowers, in a mix of bright and cheerful colours, bloom abundantly, perfect for beginner gardeners. It brings density and lightness to the heavier blooms of perennials and borders, without yielding to inclement weather. Suitable for pot culture on a terrace or balcony, this plant pairs well with grasses like Stipa tenuifolia, perennials and annuals like Verbena Venosa, bidens and rudbeckias. Its delicate flowers, with fine and airy foliage, hold up well in a vase, making it an ideal choice for summer bouquets.

Planting and care
Two cultivation methods are used for sowing Cosmos Sensation Royal Mix: Sowing under cover in March-April followed by transplanting into pots before final placement in your flower beds after the frosts. Direct sowing in place in May (after the last frosts) followed by transplanting at a distance of 30 cm or simply thinning out excess seedlings. It takes between 80 and 90 days between sowing and flowering. During the summer months, removing faded flowers will promote renewal and prolong flowering until autumn.
