Our lavender seeds allow you to sow at home true lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) or even French lavender (Lavandula stoechas). Lavenders and lavandins are renowned for their aromatic silvery-grey foliage and their melliferous flowering spikes. These Mediterranean perennials for full sun are well-suited to dry, rocky ground, borders, garrigue gardens and container plantings.
All lavenders love a very sunny position, a rather warm climate and a well-drained soil, even if poor or stony; Lavandula angustifolia tolerates cold and limestone better than French lavender, which is more sensitive to frost and acidophilous.
Sowing is carried out in spring, in trays or pots, in a light, free-draining substrate, before planting out in the garden the following year, when the young plants are well-rooted.
