Description
Petunia Ingrid F1 is a dwarf multiflora petunia adorned with large cream flowers veined with golden brown, a truly unique colouring. This hybrid variety forms neat, well-branched cushions that flower continuously all summer long and withstand rain and wind remarkably well. These coated seeds can be sown with precision, even by a beginner gardener. It will create pots, hanging baskets and borders with delicate charm.
Petunia Ingrid F1 belongs to the Solanaceae family, like tomatoes and brugmansias. The reference horticultural hybrid is Petunia × atkinsiana (or Petunia × hybrida), derived from South American species.
Ingrid F1 is a cultivar selected by the Czech company Černý Seed within the "multiflora nana" group, which brings together compact, highly floriferous plants that are resistant to inclement weather. Ingrid F1 is characterised by its cream to antique rose colouring, traversed by a very regular network of golden yellow to warm brown veins starting from the throat and extending up to a third of the corolla. The plant forms a bushy clump, well branched from the base, 30 to 35cm tall with a comparable spread. Growth is rapid, with early flowering observed 10 to 12 weeks after sowing. The stems are herbaceous, slightly sticky and finely hairy, as with most petunias. The flowers are typical of petunias: a funnel-shaped corolla, formed of five fused petals, widely spread out. Each measures 5.5 to 6.5cm in diameter. The colouring evolves slightly with light and temperature, ranging from cream to rosy ivory, sometimes tinged with old rose on the most exposed petals. Flowering repeats from June until the frosts if faded flowers are regularly removed and a flowering plant fertiliser is applied.
Compact and well-branched, Petunia Ingrid F1 is suitable for borders, window boxes and hanging baskets. It can be used to highlight a sunny bed or in large mixed pots. Its cream-pink colouring, veined with brown, pairs particularly well with silver foliage: pair it, for example, with Helichrysum petiolare 'Silver'. In a window box, it can be paired with Verbena 'Vepita Dark Red', with its small dark red flower clusters, and a Petunia Surfinia Deep Red, trailing and dark red. For a more contemporary feel, combine it with Petchoa BeautiCal 'Caramel Yellow', with its large caramel flowers, and a small grass such as Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Little Bunny'.

Planting and care
Sow Petunia multiflora 'Ingrid F1' seeds from February to April on the surface of good seed compost and press down gently. Cover the seeds lightly with a fine layer of vermiculite or sieved compost. Place the seed tray in a propagator (or seal it inside a polythene bag) or near a radiator, at a temperature of 21 to 25 °C. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Light aids germination, which typically takes 10 to 21 days.
When the young Petunia plants are large enough to handle, prick them out. Gradually harden off the young plants to cooler conditions until they are sturdy enough to be planted outside, once all risk of frost has passed. Transplant into well-drained soil at a distance of 30cm or grow them in pots or window boxes.
