These plug plants were really small, very small upon delivery. Apart from three or four young plants, all of them have grown well.

Bidens 'Campfire Funny Honey' is a brand-new hybrid variety of bidens whose radiant and bicolour flowers bring life to patios or even sunny flower beds throughout summer. Its small daisy-like flowers display a golden yellow central zone, bordered by bright orange. This striking colour is enhanced by finely cut dark green foliage. With a compact and rather trailing habit, this lively little plant works wonders in containers and rockeries. It requires little maintenance and tolerates heat and temporary drought, delighting all gardeners, even beginners. Not very hardy, bidens is grown as an annual in sunny, well-drained soil that is not too dry.
Bidens are semi-hardy plants in very mild climates. They belong to the Asteraceae family and are closely related to cosmos. The genus includes nearly 200 annual, perennial, undershrub, and bush species generally cultivated as annuals in our climates.
'Campfire Funny Honey' is part of a new line of hybrid plants selected for their brilliant flowering displaying warm shades from orange to red. Bidens 'Campfire Funny Honey' is short-lived, but grows very quickly. In the span of a few weeks, the plant forms a light, low and spreading tuft, made up of branched and leafy stems, reaching a height of 25 to 30cm (10 to 12in) and a minimum width of 50cm (20in). Its long flowering starts in June and only ends with the first autumn frosts. The plant produces flowers arranged in heads, reaching 3 to 4cm (1 to 2in) in diameter, carried by slender axillary peduncles. They are composed of 7 bicoloured petals in yellow and orange, arranged around a darker yellow centre. The decorative foliage is persistent in mild climates. It consists of small leaves divided into narrow linear segments. The foliage is deep green but vibrant.
Bidens grow very quickly and are highly floriferous. Not demanding in terms of water, they are particularly suitable for container, hanging, rockery, or summer bed cultivation. They happily coexist with other annuals such as blue lobelia, bacopa, and diascia, allowing for multiple colour combinations. For example, Bidens 'Campfire Funny Honey' pairs beautifully with red balcony geraniums, surfinias, supertunias, or petunias in white, mauve, or purple tones. It also works well with perennial or shrubby salvias with blue flowers.
Supplied as green plants measuring 4 to 8cm (2 to 3in) in cases of 5 small plug plants, 2.8cm (1in) in diameter and 4cm (2in) tall. Our plants are at least eight weeks old and strong enough to be planted in the ground.
Note: Please be aware that our young plug plants are professional products reserved for experienced gardeners: upon receipt, transplant and store them under cover (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame) at a temperature above 14C° (57.2°F) for a few weeks before planting them outside once all risk of frost has passed.

Botanical data
Plant in open ground or in a pot. If you want to plant them in open ground, wait until the last heavy frosts have passed (bidens tolerate a light late frost). In the meantime, you can pre-cultivate them in a pot in a warm and bright place to accelerate their growth. Plant in a sunny position. They need light and humus-rich soil that is not too chalky, but above all well-drained. They tolerate drought well, but will need regular watering during hot summer weather. They perish in constantly waterlogged soil. Highly floriferous and with rapid growth, they are greedy. We advise you to feed them with liquid fertiliser during the growing season. They are fragile perennials which are usually grown as annuals. You can prolong their flowering by bringing them indoors before the first cold weather in autumn and winter.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
