HEDERA HELIX GOLJDHEART 2L ARRIVED BROKEN AT THE BASE OF THE LARGE POT AFTER AN ORDER WITH BUDDLEJAS THAT ARRIVED LATE IN JUNE AND NEVER RECOVERED, AND STACHYS WHERE 2 ARE NOT RECOVERING. THEY ARRIVED WITH A TINY LEAF THAT HAS DISAPPEARED. I WOULD LIKE THIS TIME TO RECEIVE THE SAME IVY IN GOOD CONDITION AND OF THE SAME SIZE. ESPECIALLY AS I AM WAITING FOR AN ORDER WITH EUPHORBIAS AND SEDUMS THAT HAS BEEN REPEATEDLY POSTPONED. AWAITING THIS.

Description

Hedera helix Goldheart is a hardy common Ivy characterised by its evergreen dark green foliage with a golden heart. The perfect climbing plant, it can cling to any support to create a beautiful green wall.

This Ivy, with its medium growth rate, can reach heights of up to 8m (26ft). Its very unique leaves are elongated, trilobed, 8cm (3in) long, and dark green with a large irregular golden central spot. Its branches attach themselves to supports using powerful climbing roots. In autumn, the nectar from its insignificant flowering is an excellent source of food for bees, and the toxic berries provide winter food for birds.

Hedera helix Goldheart thrives in any fertile, humus-rich, moist, and well-drained soil in any exposure, but sheltered from winds. To encourage faster growth of new shoots, secure the first ones to the ground (layering). Don't hesitate to rejuvenate the plant by removing old branches.

Hedera helix Goldheart is a good wall cover, but be careful not to let it become invasive or damage old walls. Combine it with dense perennials to keep the soil moist at its base. It can also be grown in pots.

Planting and care

Hedera helix Goldheart is very easy to grow and can be planted all year round in fertile, moist but well-drained soil, preferably against a wall in any situation and sheltered from cold winds. To promote the growth of young shoots, fix the first ones to the ground (layering). Do not hesitate to rejuvenate the plant by removing old branches. Prune regularly to shape it. For container gardening, mix 7 parts of ordinary soil, 3 parts of compost, and 2 parts of sand. Water regularly and apply fertiliser every month during the growing season. Keep the substrate moist during winter.
