This jointed Orion copper spade from the eponymous brand of the famous Austrian ecologist and naturalist PKS Bronze is equipped with a footrest, a very hard ash wood handle, an ergonomic wooden grip, and a copper alloy head. It is the most powerful in the range due to the length of its handle, its weight, and the size of its head, making it ideal for heavy gardening work. Targeted tests have shown that copper tools, which leave micro particles in the soil due to mechanical wear, can contribute to improving crop quality. It is a very durable and traditionally high-quality garden tool that will satisfy demanding gardeners and tool enthusiasts. It is perfect for working and turning all types of soil, preparing planting holes, and creating clean edges.
Spade blade dimensions: 29 x 19cm - Handle length: 120cm (47in)
A spade is an essential tool designed for aerating and loosening soil. It allows for lifting, turning, loosening, and crumbling the soil deeply, on small surfaces. Fertilizer (well-decomposed compost, organic fertilizer, horse manure...) can be incorporated into the soil at the same time as it is turned. With its sharp edges, the spade is also used for digging, cutting roots, or pulling up certain vegetable plants (leeks, potatoes, carrots, turnips).
The copper head, which deposits micro particles in the soil during use, contributes to enriching it with this natural soil component. Copper tools are durable, they do not rust and last a lifetime. They also have the advantage of not dulling, so there is no need to sharpen them. Finally, they are also elegant, as the aesthetic of copper brings a noble and silky appearance. Copper tools, with their extreme longevity, are faithful companions to their owners for decades.
This model consists of a one-piece ash wood handle to minimize the risk of breakage, which is both very hard, lightweight, and less susceptible to weather conditions. The sharpened blade, made of an unalterable copper alloy, is resistant to shocks, torsion, and corrosion, offering less resistance when penetrating the soil. On the right and left sides of the handle, a footrest provides a non-sharp and non-slip point of support, allowing you to exert your weight to drive the head into the ground. The handle of this tool is compostable, and the copper head is recyclable. It comes with a 2-year guarantee.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
