A traditional spade equipped with 4 sharpened tines and fitted with footrests, perfect for working on any type of soil, even hard and rocky, or for carrying out excavation work. It has a 75cm (30in) ash handle ending in a T-shape, and a shovel blade securely attached to the handle by a long piece shaped like a swan's neck. This is a very fine hand tool designed to last, with its head hand-forged from boron steel.

This traditional De Pypere "shark" spade is equipped with footholds, an ash handle with an ergonomic T-shaped handle, and a spade iron securely fixed to the handle. It is particularly efficient in stony and hard soils, and is ideal for earthworks. It is beautifully finished. This spade is perfectly robust, and will accompany the gardener for many years. Its blade is hand forged in steel, with a boron steel finish.

Dimensions: spade neck = 25 x 16cm (6in), Swan neck piece = 32cm (13in), Handle length = 75cm (30in) (ideal for shorter people)

The spade is an essential tool, designed for lifting, turning, and loosening and crumbing the soil deeply, on small surfaces. Fertiliser (well-decomposed compost, organic fertiliser, horse manure) can be incorporated into the soil at the same time as it is turned. With its four large sharp-edged teeth, the "shark" spade easily sinks into any type of soil. It can also be used to cut roots or pull out certain vegetable plants (leeks, potatoes, carrots, turnips). This model consists of a handle made of sustainably managed natural ash wood, which is known for its hardness. The swan neck metal socket, where the forged blade is fixed, is made of a hardened steel that is resistant to shocks, torsion, and corrosion thanks to the boron steel finish. On the right and left of the handle, the spade iron has been reinforced, hammered, and flattened into a foothold, offering a non-sharp point of support for the foot. The handle, terminated by a T, multiplies the force: it facilitates gripping and aids leverage to drive the head into the soil with the help of the foot. It is compostable, and the metal head is recyclable.

The traditional De Pypere range includes high-quality tools, all made of forged steel and equipped with ash handles. The boron steel that covers the blades is very hard and very resistant, making it a precious material for tools that can be heavily used in the garden.

This tool is under warranty. This warranty only applies to the metal parts, except consumables (screws, springs, etc.), and within the scope of normal use. The warranty does not apply to handles or grips.
