Our range of scab-resistant pear trees. Robust pear trees that show reduced susceptibility to this common disease. Among them, the famous 'Conference', appreciated for its elongated, sweet and juicy fruits, which ripen in autumn. 'Beurré Clairgeau' produces large, round and melting fruits, perfect for desserts. 'Marguerite Marillat' produces large, elongated, deliciously fragrant pears. The 'Curé' pear tree is vigorous, often grown organically, and prized for its firm-fleshed pears, ideal for storage. The less well-known 'Duchesse Bérerd' pear tree gives a regular production of well-sweetened fruits. It is also resistant to scab.
Scab is one of the most common fungal diseases on pear and apple trees. It is characterised by brown spots on the leaves and fruits. Scab is mainly present in humid weather between May and September. Provide your pear tree with what it needs to stay healthy: rich and moist soil, air, sun and space to grow. Pruning is important, but it should be moderate and practised with clean tools.
