The tulips and pansies shoot, but I won't be able to make my floral arrangement because the daisies have died.

Description

The Spring Contrasting Collection allows you to create a flowering pot or planter in black and white, particularly striking in April when the majestic, almost black tulips emerge from a carpet of violas and innocent daisies. The composition will remain decorative for many months, from February to September, thanks to the long flowering of the viola and daisy. This collection is perfect for decorating a contemporary patio, balcony or window sill.

This collection consists of:

- 5 x Viola cornuta Sorbet Xp F1 White: a vigorous biennial viola with a pure white flowering, early and prolonged from February-March to September. Height in flower: 15 cm (6in)

- 5 x Bellis Perennis Tasso Blanche: a small biennial plant, 15 cm (6in) in height when in flower, full of freshness and innocence, producing numerous pure white pompom-like flowers with a yellow heart, from February to May.

- 10 x Tulip Triomphe Ronaldo: a fashionable and stylish variety, with a narrow corolla, very dark brownish purple, appearing almost black depending on the lighting. The flowers stand atop thick and sturdy stems, 40 cm (16in) tall, in the middle of spring, starting from April.

Planting and care

Create your flowering pot from September to December, in rich and light soil. First plant the biennials, then insert the bulbs between them at a depth of 10-15 cm (4-6in) and with a spacing of about 5 cm (2in). Cover with soil. For a perfect finish, if there are still places where the soil is visible, cover it with a little moss collected from the garden. Water well during planting. Afterwards, the composition should be sufficient with the autumn and spring rains. If they are not enough, water, but make sure to let the soil dry a little between two waterings: these plants do not like waterlogged soils, which can cause them to rot.
