Description

Isopyrum thalictroides is a creeping perennial with a rhizomatous stump and a bushy habit. Its glaucous green compound leaves slightly resemble those of columbines. In spring, it bears an abundance of funnel-shaped small white flowers, closely resembling those of thalictrum.

This mountainous plant is ideal in the understory or planted in a rockery. Its deciduous foliage gives a light appearance. You can plant this lovely wild perennial with ferns, wood anemones, and epimedium.
