Description
Collection of 3 biennial plug plants, 6 double 'Red Princess' tulip bulbs, and 1 mossy saxifrage in a pot to create a colourful flowerpot in spring, with a decidedly modern touch.
The collection consists of:
2 plug plants of Brown Bedder Vulcan Wallflower
1 9cm pot of Wherry's Foamflower - Tiarella wherryi
6 double 'Red Princess' tulip bulbs
1 pot of mossy saxifrage 'Peter Pan' (perennial)
Note: Please be aware that our plug plants are professional products intended for experienced gardeners. Upon receipt, transplant them as soon as possible, either in pots, flowerpots, or flower beds.

Planting and care
Plant your biennial plug plants and bulbs in a pot or large container in a sunny or possibly semi-shaded position. They require light and humus-rich soil and appreciate a fertiliser application. Place the bulbs first, at a depth of about 10 cm, fill with compost up to 1 or 2 cm from the pot's edge, then plant the biennial plug plants, spacing them about 10 to 15 cm apart in all directions. In a pot, the biennial plug plants should be watered at planting, and you can store them during winter on a balcony or a window ledge protected from cold winds.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).

It will vary according to where you live:- In zones 9 to 10 (Italy, Spain, Greece, etc.), flowering will occur about 2 to 4 weeks earlier.
- In zones 6 to 7 (Germany, Poland, Slovenia, and lower mountainous regions), flowering will be delayed by 2 to 3 weeks.
- In zone 5 (Central Europe, Scandinavia), blooming will be delayed by 3 to 5 weeks.
In temperate climates, pruning of spring-flowering shrubs (forsythia, spireas, etc.) should be done just after flowering.
Pruning of summer-flowering shrubs (Indian Lilac, Perovskia, etc.) can be done in winter or spring.
In cold regions as well as with frost-sensitive plants, avoid pruning too early when severe frosts may still occur.
