Originally from America. Perennials with an "exotic" appearance, with hardiness and needs that vary greatly depending on the species.
(Syn. A. douglasii) Robust stump, with a weakly tracing habit. Long ovate blue-green leaves. Purple-pink flowers in umbels, followed by large wooly and thorny fruits. Moist to wet soil.
