I received shabby plants. Three buckets empty, the others shabby! It's a shame to sell such plants. This is the second time this year but surely the last! Strongly not recommended.

Description

Delphinium or Larkspur. The Pacifics are recent hybrids remarkable for the size of their inflorescences, measuring 1m (3ft) to 1.20m (4ft) in length on numerous stems, 1.8 to 2m (6 to 7ft) tall.

Main flowering in June, with a second flowering if the stems are cut back as they fade.

Delphiniums are decorative with their cup-shaped, single or double flowers arranged in long spikes.

Most of them have fibrous or fleshy roots, sometimes tuberous.

Note: From March to September, the stems of our delphiniums are pruned short to promote better branching of the crown and achieve optimal rooting. This also prevents the stems from breaking during transportation.

Planting and care

Plant in spring, after the last frost in a sunny location, in moist, rich, and well-drained soil. Leave a minimum of two or three shoots on young plants and five to seven on already well-established delphiniums. During growth, water once or twice a week and apply liquid fertilizer every two or three weeks. Remove faded flowers by cutting the spikes at the level of the small side flower shoots and cut back the entire plant to ground level in autumn.

Tip: Embrace height with these giant plants that structure and balance the garden. The tallest ones will add volume and lightness against a dark background of hedges or conifers. Intermediate-sized ones will dress up tall flower beds, such as those with giant dahlias. Look after vegetation with regular watering. Watch out for slugs and snails.
