Description
Dicentra formosa 'Aurora' grows in woodland, neutral to acidic soil. This miniature bleeding heart blooms from May to June forming carpets of white flowers accompanied by grey-blue foliage.
It thrives in shady environments and easily grows under deciduous trees, provided that the soil is moist in spring. In our partially shaded flowerbed, we have mixed this dicentra with heucheras, tiarellas, sedges, and tulips. Most bleeding hearts go dormant at the end of spring, but this will not have a detrimental effect on the plants' growth.
