The Willowherbs or Epilobium angustifolium are beautiful montane perennials with white or pink flowering spikes reaching a height of 1.5m (5ft). The flowering period extends from July right through to October. They have a fast growth rate, they self-seed easily and readily colonize bare and sunny areas of the garden. They prefer moist soils and are sensitive to excess water during winter. To prevent their spread, it is necessary to cut off the faded clusters. Also known as Saint Anthony's Laurel or Flowering Willow, the flowers are edible but tasteless.

You'll love them!
