The heathers with orange, copper and bronze foliage include Calluna and Erica , whose warm colours intensify in autumn and winter. Evergreen in winter and with a low habit, they are ideal for rockeries, borders or containers.

Erica × darleyensis 'Marie Helen' has bronze foliage in winter and beautiful pink flowers from January to April. 'Winter Chocolate' changes from orangey green to yellow marked with bronze before turning brown in winter. 'Boskoop', golden in summer, turns orange tinged with red from November onwards. On 'Kramer's Rote', the dark green foliage takes on bronze tones as temperatures fall and accompanies a long flowering period in magenta.
