All our winter heathers (Erica carnea), to brighten up borders from winter onwards. This heather is evergreen, ground-covering and hardy, distinguished by its generous flowering in the heart of winter, between December and March, depending on the variety. Very well-known, ‘Springwood White’ forms a dense carpet covered in white bells from the first frosts. ‘Winterfreude’ offers a vibrant dark pink flowering from December, while ‘Schneekuppe’ produces pure white flowers against dark green foliage. Also discover ‘Eva’, with a nicely pink, very compact flowering.

Winter heathers can be planted in full sun or partial shade, in any well-drained soil. They tolerate slightly chalky soils, which distinguishes them from other heathers. Water when planting, mulch to protect the roots, then prune lightly after flowering to maintain a dense habit.
