I will not order anymore, not a serious website at all. I paid specifically for express delivery (48h guaranteed) to avoid too long transit of the plants and give them the best chance for a successful recovery. Tomorrow (today being Sunday) will be the 5th day of waiting and not a word of apology!!! I demand a full refund.

Description

The Hellebore (x) sternii Remi is a beautiful compact perennial with brown stems, bearing lovely clusters of green flowers striped with pale pink.

This hybrid hellebore is the result of a cross-breeding between the Corsican Hellebore (Helleborus argutifolius), with glaucous leaves, green flowers which is very hardy, and the magnificent Livid Hellebore (Helleborus lividus) native to the island of Majorca, with low hardness, marbled leaves and compact stems.

The Hellebore sternii Remi offers dense, compact vegetation with strong upright stems and dark brown in colour that bears both foliage and flowers, giving it an original habit. Clusters of stunning flowers are produced which are green striped with pale pink, blooming from February to April. The tough, evergreen leaves, dark green in colour, are finely cut along the edges, adding extra appeal to the plant.

In contrast to oriental hellebores, the Hellebore (x) sternii Remi thrives in the sun (tolerates partial shade in hot regions) in any well-draining and permeable soil, and can tolerate rocky and limestone soils. Very hardy, it withstands cold and dry winters well but dislikes water stagnation during winter.

Plant it in rockeries, on slopes, along paths in a meadow garden or a romantic garden, alongside heucheras, botanical tulips, ornamental garlic, and evergreen grasses.

Planting and care

The (x) sternii Remi Hellebore grows in the sun, in any well-drained soil. They thrive in soil that has been deeply worked and mixed with sand and gravel in heavy and clay soils. In acidic soil, a little lime should be added. Water the plants well after planting, but not excessively afterwards. Regularly remove wilted leaves. Ensure that the plants are not planted too close together to promote their development.
