The three plants have recovered well but it's a dwarf version of the daylily! The stems are only 10 cm (4in) tall! Not many flowers. I hope it will be better next year. In the end, the flowers have bloomed well every year and have grown well.

Description

Hemerocallis or Hemerocallis 'Everydaylily Rose' is part of a series of daylilies recently selected in the United States for their exceptional floribundity and compact habit. They bloom continuously from late spring until the first frost, producing up to 400 flowers in a mature season. In this 'Everydaylily Rose' variety, the flowers are delightful and perfectly formed, displaying a delicate salmon-pink tone shaded with a lavender-pink halo around a golden throat. This easy-to-grow perennial is a gem for the garden or terrace, stunning in borders and perfect in a romantic or even natural setting.

The Hemerocallis genus belongs to the Liliaceae family, or Hemerocallidaceae family according to some classifications. They are hardy perennial plants with deciduous or sometimes semi-evergreen foliage. The 'Everydaylily Rose' variety grows quickly, forming a fairly dense clump that will reach approximately 45 cm (18 in) in height, with a relative spread of 50 cm (20 in): daylilies tend to spread a bit when they like the soil. The flowers measure about 8 cm (3 in) in diameter. The petals are thick and slightly wavy, undulating along the edges. The satin-like substance of the floral parts beautifully reflects light. Each flower lasts no longer than a day, but the flowering period continuously renews over a long period between June and October. The stems are sturdy and make beautiful bouquets. The foliage is linear and deciduous, disappearing in winter. Daylilies are plants with short rhizomes and fleshy roots that tolerate dry soils but are more opulent and floriferous in moist and fertile soil.

Very easy to grow, daylilies thrive equally well in shade as in sun. Some of them can be a bit invasive, so do not hesitate to divide the clumps every four or five years, preferably in autumn after flowering. Daylilies are often called "the perfect perennial plant" because of their vibrant colours, their ability to tolerate any type of environment, and their beautiful exuberance, which blends well with other perennials. Plant them in generous clumps in your borders and flower beds. All summer bulb flowers can be planted alongside daylilies. 'Everydaylily Rose' will fit perfectly in the setting of a romantic garden, with bellflowers, catmints, penstemons, asters, chamomiles, or phlox by its side. On a balcony or terrace, it will be stunning for months. The flowers are edible: they brighten up salads and garnish desserts.

Planting and care

Plant your Hemerocallis 'Everydaylily Rose' in good garden soil that is not too clayey and that is enriched with humus and compost. Under these conditions, your perennial will have good tolerance to summer droughts and will not suffer from winter frosts. However, its long summer flowering requires the soil to remain slightly moist, even at the height of summer. Very easy to grow, this variety is not susceptible to parasites or diseases, and there is no need to treat it. Rodents are not interested in it either. Hemerocallis can thrive in both partial shade and full sun, with 4 to 5 hours of daily sunlight being sufficient. Plant by burying the collar 3 to 4 cm (1 to 2 in) below the surface. If you plant multiple plants, do not space them too closely together as the gaps will quickly fill up. For a few weeks after planting, it is advisable to keep the soil fairly moist. It is best to divide the clumps in autumn after flowering.
