5 stars for a very good comeback. Planted in early October last year, they all have multiple flower buds and one flower has already bloomed. However, 2 stars for the accuracy of the product description. It is now late February, admittedly our winter has been very mild, but for a blooming period announced from May to June, it's a miss... They are more than early. Moreover, the flower is a solid and uniform yellow, not "white with yellow highlights at the heart". Therefore, disappointed as it does not offer the desired effect for my flower bed.

Description

Tall Bearded Iris Total Recall has white petals with yellow highlights at the heart. It emits a slight fragrance and has a perpetual flowering.

Everyone knows Iris germanica, or Bearded Iris, which has become world famous thanks to the paintings of Van Gogh and Monet. It owes its popularity to its unique design.

Its wide rigid, sword-shaped leaves contrast with crumpled, multicolored flowers held high. The flowers have three large upright petals and three silky and trailing sepals, called "beards" for a few weeks in May/June. This Iris has large fleshy rhizomes creeping on the ground. It likes light, heat, and light and well-drained soils. It doesn't mind cold or summer drought, its enemy is wet, heavy soil. It is superb in a sunny border and makes a beautiful cut flower.

It is very resistant when exposed to full sun, in dry and well-drained soil.

Plant Iris Total Recall in a border or bed with yarrow, alliums, stipas or roses. It is better to plant them in groups of 3 or alone instead of creating iris beds.

Planting and care

Iris Total Recall should be planted shallowly, leaving the rhizome exposed at ground level. Add sand when the soil is too heavy or too wet, and place the rhizomes on small mounds. Ensure good drainage so that the irises do not rot. During summer, this iris should be watered 1 to 2 times a month. After flowering, cut the flower stems to 10 cm (4in) above the ground. Damaged leaves should only be removed in autumn. It is not a good idea to apply too much nitrogen as it weakens the plant and increases the number of leaves at the expense of flowers. Taller flower stalks can become brittle. The iris can be susceptible to heterosporiosis, a disease identified by oval brown spots. To prevent it, treat the irises with Bordeaux mixture at the beginning of the growing season. Divide the clumps every 4 years in summer after flowering by digging up the entire clump. Take the most beautiful young plants from the rhizome, usually those on the outer edge, and transplant them to an area where there have been no irises for at least a year
