The 3 young plants arrived in good condition. Only the flowering will take place next year, I cannot yet comment on the young plant.

Description

Lysimachia atropurpurea 'Beaujolais' is a magnificent perennial with an abundance of dark red spike-like flowers on green-grey foliage that turns purple at maturity, offering a beautiful contrast.

This floriferous perennial plant forms a dense, upright stump with single, entire, whorled leaves that are green-grey and then turn purple. In June, the flowers with 5 dark red petals emerge in numerous terminal spikes above the tuft.

Lysimachia atropurpurea 'Beaujolais' grows in any moist to wet, rich, well-drained soil, in a sunny or partially shaded location. It has a rapid growth rate and quickly forms beautiful clumps. A short-lived perennial plant, this loosestrife easily self-seeds in any well-draining soil, provided, of course, that you do not cut off the faded flowers.

Lysimachia atropurpurea 'Beaujolais' is ideal for bordering flower beds or in a cool rockery in a sunny exposure. Plant it alongside phlox, salvias, monardas, etc.

Advice: Slugs are very fond of young shoots.
