Lysimachia punctata Alexander - Loosestrife

Lysimachia punctata 'Alexander' is a beautiful variety with variegated silver foliage, highlighted with a pink line. It is adorned with an abundance of yellow flowers in summer.

This hardy perennial forms a dense stump, with running rhizomes. In spring, upright stems bear green, variegated foliage, which is first pink and then cream. Golden-yellow flowers appear in the axils of the leaves and form a large elongated cluster in early summer.

Floriferous and very robust, Lysimachia punctata 'Alexander' tolerates all climates. It grows in full sun or partial shade in any moist, rich and heavy soil.

It can be planted on the edge of a flower bed or on the banks of a pond. It grows beautifully alongside astilbes, meadowsweets, hostas, and tiered primroses.
