Mimulus are hardy perennials with large variegated flowers, native to Mexico. They are often grown as annuals in our gardens, but some species like Mimulus luteus or Mimulus guttatus thrive and self-seed spontaneously in open and cool areas, especially if the soil is heavy and clayey. Mimulus thrive along pond edges where they colour the surroundings with their abundant flowering, which extends from June to September in various colours depending on the species or variety. Mimulus prefer moist to wet soil and full sun, although they will tolerate partial shade.

You'll adore them!
