Very good recovery since last autumn, well spread and lots of beautiful leaves...I'm waiting for the flowers. However, the downside is the carrier: all the young plants were unpacked!!

Description

Potentilla Gibson's Scarlet is a perennial potentilla, with a creeping stump, forming magnificent carpets of crimson-red flowers of a rare intensity.

This hybrid of P. atrosanguinea has deciduous, greyish-green lobed foliage. It forms a compact, spreading and regular tuft, topped in early summer by large crimson-red flowers rising to 40 cm (16 in) in height.

Hardy and very easy to grow, Potentilla Gibson's Scarlet grows in any fresh, rich and well-drained soil. Grow it at the edge of a bed, alongside lobelias, echinacea or heuchera with purple leaves.
