Description

Reported from Yunnan in 2003 by Charles Boulanger, this variation of a little-known species is remarkable. The leaves of this find, give the impression of having been carefully drawn by hand. The leaves, larger than those of the type, are also distinctly more colourful, especially when the plant benefits from light.

Very resistant to cold, note that the foliage is almost evergreen when winter is not too harsh.

Planting and care

Almost as running as the type, it needs to be given space in a rich soil, even clayey and humid, in the sun or in partial shade. Naturally, it has found its place in our exotic pathways, among small-sized bamboos where their mutual roots compete. The pinkish-white flowering is discreet but long-lasting.
