Description
The flowering of the Pulmonaria 'Opal' is one of the small pleasures of spring. The bunches of blue-tinted flowers rise above a compact foliage. It is this delicate colour that makes this variety unique. After flowering, still enjoy its variegated silver foliage.
A perennial and completely hardy plant, this lungwort is used as a ground cover. It fills shade beds and the shaded bases of trees or bushes, even those of conifers. In winter, in well-protected areas, its foliage is evergreen.
Plant some spring bulbs with your lungwort that will bloom here and there. Also consider adding some variegated ground covers with later flowering to your bed.

Planting and care
Plant the Pulmonaria 'Opal' in a rich and moist to wet soil, adding leaf compost if necessary during planting, and place the plant in partial shade. Water regularly during the first season, as it helps the plant establish itself, and then it becomes easy to grow. Be careful of slugs, as they love young shoots. In dry conditions, lungworts can be susceptible to powdery mildew.
