Our range of Pycnanthemum, nicknamed mountain mints. These plants from the Lamiaceae family, closely related to mints, feature highly aromatic foliage and melliferous flowering. Hardy perennials, Pycnanthemum form dense, flowering clumps in summer.

The Pycnanthemum muticum is one of the most popular species. It stands out for its strong Moroccan mint aroma and silvery bracts. The Pycnanthemum flexuosum, highly aromatic with a menthol fragrance, bears tight white flowers atop tall upright stems in summer. The American mountain mint (Pycnanthemum pilosum) is a variety similar to peppermint, with narrow, hairy leaves emitting a camphor-scented fragrance. Pycnanthemum incanum offers downy foliage and lavender-white flowering, loved by butterflies and bees.

Mountain mints have varying soil requirements, but all need a sunny exposure. They require little maintenance apart from pruning after flowering to maintain their compact habit.
