The Bahco PG-19-F telescopic branch cutter is ideal for pruning large, distant or high branches thanks to its extendable arms from 70 to 90 cm (28 to 35in)! Equipped with a simple locking/unlocking system, simply turn the handles a quarter of a turn to adjust their length. This is a highly efficient pruning tool with its steel blades, which are teflon-coated to prevent corrosion and friction, effortlessly cutting through green wood up to 40 mm (2in) in diameter. Gardeners greatly appreciate its lightweight anodized aluminium handles and bi-material non-slip and comfortable grips. Soft rubber stops cushion the impact when the branch cutter is closed.
The bypass branch cutter has the same type of blades as cross-blade secateurs, but they are larger and mounted on longer handles. Their cut is clean, quick, and precise, which is important to avoid crushing tissues and causing long-term damage to still-living plants. These are therefore perfect tools for pruning still flexible branches and green stems on plants that require a wider cutting width and a greater reach. The blades on this model are smooth and sharp, making them more suitable for non-fibrous wood. Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
