Hello! I received this rose bush this morning, but without a label. It is very vigorous, a bit small for a climber but quite leafy. However, I am worried about the colour based on the comments. I chose it for its purple hue in the photos, specifically to pair it with the Albrighton Amber rose, which has subtle blue tones in the picture... If the colour doesn't match, oh well, but it would be a shame. Only time will tell, and perhaps the quality and composition of the soil will influence the rose's colour. We'll see. Thank you for the well-protective packaging.

Description

The Crimson Shower rose is a rambling rose, its flowers in dense clusters are double. The lovely dark pink petal colour almost leans towards purple. From mid-summer to September, it transforms into a true cascade of roses. The unique colour, the well-filled rose, and the abundance of flowers are remarkable assets for this unusual rose.

Rambling roses require little training after planting, as they naturally wrap around their support. This one is very vigorous, and you won't have to wait long for it to cover your pergola or fence. You can also let it climb a large tree. Mix your liana roses with a clematis to extend the flowering period.

Crimson Shower is a hybridisation of Rosa wichuriana, a botanical rose native to the Far East. This parentage gives Crimson Shower excellent vigour.

Planting and care

The 'Crimson Shower' climbing rose prefers sunny locations. Although it doesn't appreciate excessive limestone, it tolerates it. It will adapt to any garden if the soil is well-cultivated and rich enough. To plant your rose, work the soil by crumbling it and adding an amendment at the bottom of the planting hole, such as blood, fish and bone. Water generously after planting to remove any air pockets. Water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root growth. Pruning this rose is only necessary to control its vigorous growth. If its spread bothers you, don't hesitate to reduce its branches. Since it doesn't repeat, removing the faded flowers is not necessary and hips will form in autumn.

Roses may appear unsightly at the end of summer due to staining, but this is a natural and harmless occurrence that does not affect their growth.
