Thanks to the individuals (for the order preparation & shipping service), the received rose bush is healthy. Planted close to the same variety, I am now waiting for it to take root... Note: received without the variety label (which is essential to identify the rose bush in all seasons).

Description

The 'Country Dream' ground cover rose, often marketed under Beauce, Korsilan or Palmengarten Frankfurt, is an excellent variety. Particularly resistant to diseases, this rose is also robust and remarkably floriferous throughout the beautiful season. Its small semi-double roses display an intense and bright pink colour, which retains its brightness until deflowering. They are so numerous that they almost conceal its lovely, fresh, shiny green foliage.

The Beauce Korsilan rose was introduced in 1988 by the German rosarian Kordes, and in 1992, it was awarded the highly selective German ADR label, which rewards the best varieties. Due to its low, dense, and spreading habit, this landscape rose belongs to the floribunda family and the ground cover rose category. In three or four years, it forms a dome of about 90 cm (35in) to 1 m (3ft) in all directions. Its thorny stems are covered with beautiful fresh green, decorative foliage, divided into small glossy leaflets with finely toothed edges. Its flowering is abundant and continuous from June to October if the soil remains slightly moist in summer. Its corollas, 4 to 5 cm (2in) wide, are semi-double, composed of 17 to 25 petals arranged in a cup, and gathered in small clusters. This flowering is very lightly scented. The petals, in a vivid candy-pink colour, barely fade over time. The deciduous foliage falls in autumn.

The 'Beauce' or 'Korsilan' ground cover rose adapts to all soils that are not too dry and to all climates, which allows it to be welcomed without reservation in many regions. It works wonders in a large planter on the terrace, in a large border, as a mass planting, or on a large slope where it will cover the ground. It can also be planted in groups of 3 plants, arranged in a triangle, isolated on a lawn. Plant it in masses or combine it with white or purple ground cover roses to highlight the design of a path or the beds of light or opulent shrubs and perennials. For example, it can be paired with perennial geraniums (Geranium Blue Cloud, Anne Folkard, Nimbus, Orion), bellflowers (lactiflora, rapunculoides), catmints, delphiniums, foxgloves, or other perennial salvias. It blends perfectly with shrub roses with pink or white flowers in a romantic garden.

Planting and care

If you want to plant your 'Beauce' ground cover Rose, it's best to do it between November and March in well-drained soil. These roses prefer heavier clayey soils over lighter ones. If your soil is too sandy, compacted, or dry in summer, adding compost or well-rotted manure to the bottom of the planting hole is recommended. But be careful not to plant them in waterlogged soils during winter. It's best to put them in a place with plenty of sunlight or partial shade. Roses need a lot of nutrients, so it's good to use a specific fertiliser when the vegetation period starts and regularly throughout the flowering season. To encourage repeat flowering, remove faded flowers regularly. Floribunda and polyantha rose varieties tend to be more vigorous and floriferous. So, it's best to prune the stems to about one-quarter of their length (4 to 6 buds from the base of the stem) during late winter. Always prune above an outward-facing bud so the bush can grow outward and the branches don't become tangled in the centre of the canopy.

Roses may develop unsightly spots at the end of summer, but this is a natural occurrence and doesn't harm the rose's growth.
