Thank you to the staff (for order preparation and shipping), the rose bush received is healthy. Planted close to the "Opalia", "Swany", "Kew Gardens" varieties, I am now patiently waiting for it to take root... or not?

Description

Rosa Snow Star is a charming small bush appreciated for its beautiful health and generous, delicately scented, white flowers. This bush forms a flexible and spreading, very beautiful ground cover covered with clusters of small white flowers with golden stamens, which are loved by bees. They continuously bloom from June to October on elegant, glossy dark green foliage. At the end of the season, its small hips bring a touch of colour to the garden. It is very disease-resistant, and requires little attention and care. This rose bush works well in front of taller shrubs, in large borders, along pathways...

The Snow Star rose is a creation from Lens Roses dating back to 2008. This bush grows and spreads rapidly to become wider than it is tall and slightly trailing. Eventually, the plant will reach an average of 45 cm (18in) high with a spread of 70 cm (28in). Its flexible and thorny stems bear dark green leaves, finely divided into glossy, disease-free leaflets. Flowering begins in June and continues all summer if the soil does not dry out too much and faded clusters are regularly removed. The last flowers bloom in October. To allow hips to form, faded flowers should no longer be removed from August. The hips will turn a lovely orange colour when ripe. The countless small single flowers measuring 3 cm (1in) in diameter are gathered in large clusters. They are pure white, with golden stamens in the centre of the corollas. They exhale a sweet spicy fragrance. This rose bush has excellent hardiness (-20°C (-4°F)).

The Snow Star ground cover rose is undemanding, generous, and easy to grow. The shrub will thrive in well-prepared soil and requires no pruning other than the removal of dead wood. Unlike many roses, its beauty is not ostentatious. Its lightness and wild rose-like appearance blend well with all the plants in the garden. Plant it in borders and flower beds, or on a large slope where it will cover the ground. It can also be planted in groups of 3, arranged in a triangle, or as a specimen on a lawn. It naturally pairs well with other ground cover roses to highlight a pathway or shrub borders. For example, it can be combined with perennial geraniums (Geranium Blue Cloud, Anne Folkard, Nimbus, Orion), peonies, iris, and tall phlox. Consider planting it with a herbaceous clematis.

Planting and care

Rose bushes prefer a sunny location (at least 4 to 5 hours of sun per day) but protected from the scorching rays of midday and strong winds. Rose bushes like loose, permeable, and rich soil. They prefer slightly acidic soil but will thrive in any garden as long as the soil is well-worked and sufficiently deep. To plant your Snow Star rose bush, prepare your soil to a depth of 25 cubic cm by loosening the soil and adding a base fertiliser such as bonemeal. Remove your rose from its pot and position it with the top of the root ball covered by 3 cm (1in) of soil. Fill in the hole and water generously to eliminate air pockets. In dry weather, water regularly for a few weeks to aid root growth. Provide your rose bush with special rose fertiliser to stimulate flowering.

Rose bushes are often stained or unsightly at the end of summer, but this is not a problem for their development. These stains are not harmful to the rose bush and are a natural phenomenon.
