Thanks to the individuals (for order preparation and shipping), the bare-root rose I received appears to be healthy. Planted near the 'Baie des Anges' variety, I am now patiently waiting for it to take root... or not?

Description

The Cremet d'Anjou® Rose Bush is a prize-winning variety known for its fragrance. Its large, double, white, and campanulate roses are as delightful as the dessert that was celebrated in its time and described by Curnonsky, the Prince of Gastronomes, as "The Angevin cream is a divine treat. No whipped cream can compare to this little foamy, fragrant, creamy, and light delight". A wonderful evocation for the perpetual flowering of this creation, perfectly highlighted by beautiful dark green foliage. In addition to its ornamental qualities, this rose bush is also resistant to diseases.

The Cremet d'Anjou® Rose Bush 'Weklicrypep', recently introduced to the market, received the Fragrance Award at the New Roses Competition in Bagatelle (Paris) in 2020. It is a small bush with an upright habit, vigorous and fast-growing. It will eventually reach a height of about 75cm (30in), with a spread of 50-60cm (20-24in)From May-June until late in the seasonlarge, perfectly shaped roses are formed, solitary and carried by long thorny stems. They are composed of multiple white petals, tinged with cream at the heart of the flower. Their fragrance, powerful, is more noticeable in warm and calm weather. This rose bush has good disease resistance. This deciduous and hardy bush loses its leaves in autumn. It will give its best when planted in rich, deep soil that remains slightly moist in summer to support flower production.

This modern Cremet d'Anjou rose bush will find its place in the garden in a large rose bed, at the front of a shrub bed, or planted in groups of 3 specimens in a well-maintained small garden. Its white flowering complements all colours in the garden. Consider planting it near easy-to-grow plants such as perennial geraniums (Geranium 'Blue Cloud', 'Anne Folkard', 'Nimbus', 'Orion'), Campanulas (lactiflora, rapunculoides), catmintsperennial salvias, Perovskia, Caryopteris... Dwarf buddleias also make lovely companions for bush roses. Its flowers can be used to create bouquets that will perfume the house.

Planting and care

To plant your Crémet d'Anjou rose, prepare your soil to a depth of 25 cubic cm, crumble the soil well and place a base amendment such as dried blood or dehydrated horn at the bottom of the planting hole. Position your young plant, removed from its pot, and cover the top of the root ball with 3cm (1in) of soil. Fill in the hole and water thoroughly to eliminate air pockets. In dry weather, it is necessary to water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate rooting. Also, remember to provide your rose with special rose fertilizer that stimulates flowering. Choose a sunny location, or partial shade in very hot regions.
