Rosa 'La Garçonne' - Hybrid Tea Rose

The 'La Garçonne' Rose (Taneiglat) is a modern hybrid tea rose from the 'Les Années Folles' series developed by German rose breeder Tantau. This variety is characterized by abundant, perpetual flowering with an unusual, fragrant colour reminiscent of citrus and raspberry notes. In addition to its ornamental qualities, it is a robust bush resistant to rose diseases. Its large, double flowers, with excellent colour retention, blend shades of creamy yellow to white and cherry pink to red, creating a superb bicoloured effect and adding depth to the flowers. This characterful rose in a vase or along a pathway or terrace allows you to play with a relaxed and daring style!

The 'La Garçonne' Rose has received numerous awards in international competitions: 1st Prize Rumbeke 1998, Top Rose Den-Haag 2000, Gold Medal Glasgow 2002, Diploma Warszaw 2006 and 2009, and Lottum Puplikumspreis 2011. This hybrid tea rose is part of the Floribunda group, with flowers grouped in corymbs or small bouquets.

The plant forms a tall, ramified bush with vigorous and rapid growth. It will reach approximately 90 cm (35in) in height, with a spread of 70 cm (28in). From May to June and late in the season, solitary or paired roses bloom on dark green, deeply lobed foliage. These roses measure 9 to 10 cm (4in) in diameter and have 40 petals. They open like hybrid teas, well-organized around a turbinate center. The center of the flower is a gradient of light yellow to almost white, while the outer petals have a gradient of red to pink. This rose has excellent disease resistance. This deciduous, hardy shrub loses its leaves in autumn. It thrives in rich, deep soil that remains cool in summer.

With its fruity fragrance and impertinent style, this modern 'La Garçonne' rose does not go unnoticed in the garden.
