Thanks to the individuals (Ludivine for order preparation and M.D. from the shipping department), the bare-root rose received appears healthy to me (hoping for better luck than last year as the rose died). Planted near the 'Sharifa Asma' variety, I am now patiently awaiting spring growth (or not)...

Planting and care

Roses prefer a sunny location (at least 4 to 5 hours of sun per day), but protected from the scorching midday sun and strong winds. Roses appreciate loose, permeable, and humus-rich soils. They prefer slightly acidic soil, but will adapt to any garden as long as the soil is well prepared and sufficiently rich. To plant your rose in a pot, prepare the soil by loosening it to a depth of 25 cm and placing a bottom amendment such as bonemeal in the planting hole. Position your plant, removed from its pot, and cover the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil. Fill in the hole and water thoroughly to remove air pockets. During dry weather, it is necessary to water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root growth. Remember to apply special rose fertiliser to stimulate flowering. To achieve abundant flowering in your climbing roses, regularly bend and tie the branches that can grow up to 1m (3 feet) in a week during the summer. Each bend will result in a lateral shoot that ends in a cluster of flowers. Do not hesitate to use this technique, you will be rewarded.

Roses are often spotted or unsightly at the end of summer, but this is not a problem for their development. These spots are not harmful to the rose, it is a natural phenomenon.
