Description

The Rosy Boom Rose 'Dynamic Hip Hop' Rose Bush is part of the Rosy Boom series, exciting for its low-maintenance and highly floriferous cultivars, with flowers resembling wild roses. This one stands out with a flowering in a dynamic range of pink: its changing flowers alternate between a pale and soft pink or a deeper medium pink. Simple and fragrant, with white centres and yellow stamens, they constantly bloom from June to September on a compact, erect, narrow bush with a flexible habit. This hardy, healthy, and compact selection is easily pruned once a year. It can be planted in flower beds, small hedges, or pots.

The Rosy Boom Rose 'Dynamic Hip Hop' Rose Bush has a very flexible bushy habit, reaching an average height of 1.40m (5ft) and a width of 60cm (24in) at maturity, making it suitable for small spaces. Its flowering is particularly abundant and regular from June to September, provided the soil remains moist. Its small and 4cm (2in) wide roses are gathered in generous panicles. They are slightly flattened cups, offering a beautiful range of different shades of pink. The stems are adorned with deciduous and healthy foliage, divided into leaflets of a medium green colour with a satin finish. The bush has a moderate growth rate.

Landscape roses allow for the creation of beautiful small hedges planted in a mix at the edge of a terrace or in small shrub flower beds. Combine them with abelias, nandinas, deciduous ceanothus, roses or blue, or caryopteris. They are good companions for peonies, tall phlox, and tall baby's breath. The modest size of Rosy Boom Rose Dynamic Hip Hop allows it to find a place in any garden, even small ones. Its uses are versatile, depending on the desires of each gardener: in a rose bed, alongside pink, red, or purple varieties such as Rhapsody in Blue, or mixed with easy-to-grow plants like perennial geraniums Rozanne, small-flowered carnations, perennial salvias, or pink and blue asters.

Planting and care

The Rosy Boom Dynamic Hip Hop rose is undemanding, thriving in all regions that are not too hot and are not affected by disease, cold or rain. Plant it in ordinary, well-tilled, well-drained soil in a sunny or semi-shaded position, which it tolerates very well. Perfectly hardy, it can withstand temperatures as low as -20°C.

Planting your rose requires some preparation. Begin by working the soil to a depth of 25 cubic cm and adding a base amendment like blood, fish, and bone to the bottom of the planting hole. Remove the plant from its pot and position it by covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil. Refill the hole and water generously to eliminate any air pockets. It's essential to water the rose regularly for a few weeks during dry weather to help the roots grow. Use a special rose fertiliser that stimulates plant flowering. Choose a sunny location or partial shade to plant your rose in hot regions.

Roses may develop unsightly spots at the end of summer, but this is a natural occurrence and doesn't harm the rose's growth.
