Chimonobambusa

Chimonobambusa is an elegant bamboo, with a moderate growth speed; its luxuriant vegetation works wonders in the garden or in a container on the terrace. With a conical habit like in 'Marmorea' or gracefully weeping like 'tumidissinoda Macrophylla', this small bamboo with delicate foliage brings an exotic and graceful touch to any garden or terrace. It is also characterised by the curiously swollen nodes that adorn its slender canes, sometimes with a square section in the aptly named Chimonobambusa quadrangularis, whose colour varies depending on the species and varieties. This bamboo has rapid growth and a rootstock with creeping rhizomes that slowly colonise the soil around the clump, requiring the installation of anti-rhizome barriers to limit its spread.
