Description
Hebe ochracea, also known as Veronica ochracea, is a small evergreen bush with coppery-orange foliage. It has a low spreading habit. In spring and early summer, it produces small white flowers.
Hebe ochracea is a small compact and spreading bush. It reaches a height of 60cm (24in) and a spread of 80cm (32in) at maturity, with its branches arching as it ages. Its evergreen scale-like foliage is greenish orange to golden brown, setting it apart from other plants and giving it a conifer-like appearance. A white flowering occurs during June and July.
Hebe ochracea thrives in full sun. This small bush grows well in light, moist but well-drained soil. It will be ideal for adding flowers to your rock gardens, containers, and sunny borders. It will be a great companion to perennial displays.

Planting and care
In gardens with a humid climate, Hebe ochracea will find its place in rockeries or sloping banks. From its origins, it has retained a certain sensitivity to severe cold. Protect it in colder regions or cultivate it in pots, bringing it indoors during freezing periods. This small bush does not need pruning. However, it is advisable to remove faded flowers after flowering. Remove dead branches to preserve its compact habit.
