The Potentilles or Potentilla are compact shrubs or perennials loved for their generous flowering from May to September. They grow rapidly and produce bright yellow to orange cup-shaped flowers, as well as white ones. They are hardy and highly resistant to drought. Potentilles thrive in permeable, poor, well-drained but not too calcareous soils in sunny or semi-shaded locations. The shrub varieties, Potentilla fruticosa, can reach a height of 1.5m (5ft), while the perennials will remain shorter. Pruning after flowering consists of maintaining a rounded shape. Potentilles are used in flower beds, borders, or rockeries. Pair them with perennial geraniums or lavenders. Tip: Plant orange, red, or pink flowering varieties in shaded areas, as they fade in the sun.

You'll adore them!
