Borage, Borago in Latin, is an ornamental, culinary and melliferous plant, appreciated for the beauty of its star-shaped flowers, which are an intense blue or more rarely white, as well as the benefits it provides to everyone including  in he garden. The best known variety, the Common Borage or Borago officinalis, is this pretty annual to biennial plant with broad, velvety and soft leaves that self-seeds abundantly, up to three times per year. This plant is naturalised in Europe, and often travels from one garden to another, finding its way into uncultivated areas.  It is native to Syria, Egypt or Siberia. Sow borage in a staggered swoings, it is surprisingly easy to grow, whether in open ground or in a seed tray.
