Absinthe is a perennial, aromatic and medicinal shrub, formerly used for the production of a famous liqueur called the green fairy. It has green-grey, silky, highly dissected foliage, rich in essential oils, and prefers calcareous, nitrogen-poor and rather dry soil. All absinthes are fragrant, from the Grand absinthe (Artemisia absinthium) reaching a height of 1m (3ft), to the dwarf Artemisia pontica (Roman absinthe), and including Artemisia dracunculus, tarragon. We enjoy running our hand over their soft, fragrant foliage, and we love their graphic appeal. They are as useful in the vegetable garden as they are beautiful in the ornamental garden!
You'll love them!
