Description

A mixture composed of three superb, very different varieties of carrots: 'Touchon' (30%), 'Colmar' (40%), and 'Nantaise' (30%). Ideal for vegetable garden enthusiasts! This mixture is offered to you in a 3-metre (10 feet) ribbon to be planted from March to June and in October-November for year-round harvesting.

The 'Touchon' Carrot is an early variety that offers semi-long roots, with firm flesh and excellent taste.

The 'Colmar 2' Carrot is a late variety, producing large, long roots with orange skin and red flesh. Hardy, it is ideal for autumn harvesting and stores well in winter.

The 'Nantaise 2' Carrot is a variety with semi-long, cylindrical roots, with colored and sweet flesh. It also stores very well.

The seeds are offered to you in ribbons: they are pre-spaced and placed between two very thin layers of biodegradable fibers. This process is very practical, easy to implement, and avoids tedious thinning.

Planting and care

Sowing:

This seed tape is planted from March to June and in October - November in finely worked soil. It can be cut to the desired length and simply placed in a furrow 2cm (1in) deep, which you will cover with fine soil or a little compost. Then proceed with the first watering and ensure that the soil remains moist until germination.

Carrots are sown in a sunny or semi-shaded location. They are not very demanding on the type of soil. However, the finest roots will be harvested in a rich, light, sandy soil. It is important to prepare the soil well by deep digging (30cm (12in)) in autumn, during which 2 to 3kg of well-rotted manure or compost will be incorporated. All stones should be removed during this operation.
