Description

Tulipa 'Happy Generation' is a robust plant from the Triumph tulips division. From April to May, it produces large single flowers in elongated cups. The long-lasting flowers are white with cherry-red flames, displaying a unique charm.

In the heart of spring, the 'Happy Generation' tulip forms sturdy stems that will withstand bad weather. The leaves of this tulip are dark green in spring and measure 10 to 35cm (4 to 14in) long. At full bloom, this variety can reach a height of 40 to 50cm (16 to 20in).

Triumph tulips are suitable for planting in flower beds. You can also place them in pots on your patio or balcony. Combine this triumph tulip with other tulips to extend the flowering period. Its flowers also look wonderful in a vase.

Planting and care

Ideally, plant the bulbs in a sunny location, sheltered from the wind. You can also plant them in a partially shaded spot. Plant them from mid-October to mid-November for optimal spring flowering. Plant the bulbs in well-drained and deeply loosened soil at a depth of 15cm (6in). Space the bulbs 10cm (4in) apart (making sure they do not touch each other) to create a mass effect. Cut the flower stems after flowering. Allow the leaves to dry completely before cutting them.
