The Stachys Byzantina or lamb's ear is a hardy perennial plant used as ground cover. The Stachys Byzantina has evergreen foliage with a woolly texture and silver-gray color. In early summer, fluffy spikes bear numerous intensely pink flowers. Plant Stachys Byzantina in dry and rocky soil in a sunny position. It can be planted alongside companion Sedum, Euphorbias, and Stipas.
The Stachys Grandiflora has green, deciduous foliage. Its large, bright purple-pink flowers bloom from the beginning of summer. Plant Stachys Grandiflora in moist and heavy soil, at the edge of a border, at the base of shrub roses, or alongside perennial geraniums.
