Perennial Geraniums, are vigorous, hardy, and easy to grow in both open ground and pots, they also come in white-flowered varieties, like the Geranium sanguineum Album with its compact habit and large pure white flowers. Perfect in white gardens, they also allow for beautiful combinations with blue-flowered perennial geraniums like the famous 'Rozanne', as well as red, lilac, magenta, and pink varieties. With varied forms and foliage, you can use low-growing varieties as ground cover or in containers, and taller varieties as background plants in borders.

In temperate climates, pruning of spring-flowering shrubs (forsythia, spireas, etc.) should be done just after flowering.
Pruning of summer-flowering shrubs (Indian Lilac, Perovskia, etc.) can be done in winter or spring.
