Our range of aubergine plug plants. A star variety in the vegetable garden, the aubergine 'Bonica F1' is early, vigorous and productive. 'Clara F1’ stands out for its white skin and mild flesh. ‘Violet Knight’ offers elongated aubergines of an intense purple, while ‘Rania F1’ is a variety with decorative fruits, purple streaked with creamy white, with a mild, melting flesh. Plug plants are very young plants that need to be pre-grown before planting out in the vegetable garden. Upon receipt, pot them on and store them under cover (conservatory, greenhouse, cold frame...) at a temperature above 14°C for a few weeks. They can be planted outdoors once the risk of frost has completely passed.
Aubergines need a rich, well-drained soil and a position in full sun. Water them regularly without wetting the foliage and install an organic mulch to conserve soil moisture.
