The Scarlet Runner Bean, Multiflora Bean or Runner BeanPhasoleus coccineus – is cultivated in the vegetable garden for its pod or seed, but also successfully in the ornamental garden for its long clusters of decorative red flowers, ruby red for the Lady Di variety. The fruits then form long green pods with a delicious flavour when picked young and tender. They are consumed in the same way as green beans, but Runner Beans are sown differently - the seeds need to be buried to germinate.

You'll love them!
