While the classic Nelumbo nucifera is pink, cross-breeding with Nelumbo lutea has produced several varieties in a palette of yellow tones, ranging from the most subtle to the most intense. Their flowering evokes the beauty and positive energy of the sun. For small ponds or containers, there are dwarf varieties, such as Nelumbo 'Moling Qiuse'. Its pale yellow, almost translucent flowers boast unique elegance and lightness. The dwarf lotus 'Pygmaea Yellow' produces small, sun-like flowers.
