The akebias quinata are remarkable climbing plants with semi-evergreen foliage, and clusters of flowers with three original petals of beautiful deep purple colour (aquebia quiinata species) or almost white cream (cream form). The elegant lightness of their leaves and their tolerance to almost all exposures allows them to be widely used in gardens, especially as a complement to another climber such as a climbing rose or a clematis.
