The Lobularia maritima, also known as Sweet Alyssum, are excellent ground cover plants with abundant small flowers that have a delicate honey fragrance. These annuals quickly form clumps with highly branched linear grey-green foliage. An explosion of flowers clusters together in rounded inflorescences that cover the entire foliage. Often white, they create a carpet of snow that lasts from June to September. These easy-to-grow plants thrive in fertile, not too compact soils and in sunny, even hot, locations. Water generously in the evening during summer and trim them back after the first flowering to encourage a second bloom. Sweet Alyssum is ideal for wild gardens, rockeries, pots, hanging baskets, and borders. They can also be planted between paving stones. They self-seed every year.

You'll love them!
