Chives are aromatic plants cultivated in the vegetable garden or in a pot for their hollow and long leaves with a garlic-like and pungent taste. Harvesting the foliage at the base of the clump promotes its renewal. The seeds are sown from February to June for a harvest from May to September. From March to May, Chives bloom in beautiful decorative mauve pompoms. Propagation is done by dividing the clump or by sowing seeds. Like the Spring onion, it thrives in moderately rich soils in the sun and partial shade.
